What's Worth Watching This Weekend

There may not be a lot of choice this weekend, but let's check out what movie you may have missed or will be missing



Here goes another round of "Which movie isn't as bad as this other one?"

What I mean is that there is hardly anything worth watching this weekend. Why? Because you've probably already watched every decent movie that is out now (Social Network, Easy A, The Town) and hopefully you've skipped the crap (My Soul to Take, Life as We Know It, Secretariat, etc.)


WAIT WAIT WAIT. You're probably saying: "Ace! What about (insert niche movie here)?? Yes yes yes. Paranormal Activity 2 and Jackass 3D are both out. So freakin' what. If you are reading this, then you obviously aren't sure what you want to watch this weekend, and you should have a pretty well-established opinion of these movies already. Paranormal Activity 2 is for fans of the first movie and horror lovers. Jackass 3D is for fans of the show and painful-to-watch shenanigans 

Yes, I said shenanigans. That's what they are

WAIT WAIT WAIT. What about Saw 3D?? Sigh. Same argument, I mean if you haven't watched the first 6 movies, then you're not going to watch this one right? Ok, maybe you are but that's quite unwise unless you plan to watch all the DVD's before friday. Ok fine, maybe you will enjoy it on its own merit just don't say I didn't warn you. I'm not saying Saw 3D is going to suck by the way, I'm pretty sure that fans are going to enjoy it (they enjoyed the last two that sucked anyways...)

I mean seriously, this guy just sucks

Anything else? Well indie fans get Monsters this weekend, which is about a journalist who escorts some random person across the Mexican border into America. Oh yeah, and it takes place six years after an alien invasion. And the border is an infection zone. Hey, this could be good...so why did it release in Kazakhstan a month ago...

At the very least, the poster is cool

So if you're not a fan of any of these movies, my advice for you is to hit up your dollar theater. I know in my hometown we have great movies like Inception, Toy Story 3, The Other Guys, and Step Up 3. Plus...it's where I work soooo buy concession!
